Celebrating Ardath House: A Harmonious Blend of History and Modern Living

At Quorum Studios, we believe that great architecture goes hand in hand with thoughtful interior design. It’s with great excitement that we introduce Elska Interiors, the talent responsible for the stunning transformation of Ardath House, which has been nominated as a finalist for the 2025 HIA & IDA Queensland Residential Interior Decorator award.

A Thoughtful Renovation

Ardath House, a beautiful 1910 estate, has been reimagined into a home that perfectly balances historical charm with the comforts of modern life. As Bec from Elska Interiors notes, “I can only guess what led the judges to select Ardath House, but I’d like to think it comes down to the way the design carefully bridges past and present.” This sentiment encapsulates the essence of the project, where each design choice pays homage to the home’s architectural story while ensuring it meets the needs of today’s family living.

Creating Spaces for Connection

The design of Ardath House emphasizes connection, with spaces crafted for both gatherings and everyday life. From the sunroom—now a favorite spot for book clubs and family chats—to the expansive living area, every corner of the home invites warmth and togetherness. The careful selection of furnishings, such as classical pieces paired with modern elements, creates an inviting atmosphere that feels both elegant and approachable.

Bec highlights, “Finding that balance between history and modern life is never simple, but when it’s done well, the result is truly special.” This philosophy is evident throughout Ardath House, where each room tells a story, fostering joy and comfort for its residents.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

The official announcement of the HIA award winners will take place on September 12, 2025. We at Quorum Studios are thrilled to celebrate this achievement with Elska Interiors.
